Friends, sailors and kind suffragists, the Torches remind you of our impending show, tomorrow, at the Rock n Roll Hotel.

Secondly, we will simply tantalize you with the vague concept of a release of our first full-length album this year. Ten songs recorded with Hays Holladay and Nick Anderson and, at times, on our own. More details as they come.

In the meantime, we will be releasing one (1) song from this album along side of two songs from the same session that will likely not end up on the full-length album. These are sometimes referred to as a “single” and its “b-side(s).” The “single” will be “Cup of Misery” and you can hear it live at any of the following upcoming shows:

Sunday - Feb 12 - Luce Unplugged with the Torches @ 1:30pm
Smithsonian Luce Foundation Center - 8th and F Streets, N.W. - Washington, DC
FREE.

This is a free, mostly all acoustic show by the Torches at the art gallery. Some of us might be perched upon stools. And it’s in the middle of the darn afternoon, so bring the kids.

“There are three venues along the U Street NW corridor (The Islander, Dynasty, and Dukem) and two closer to Logan Circle (Lalibela and Caribou Coffee). You can find a full list of bands on the STPP website; local participants include Mercies, The Cinnamon Band, Drawbridges, Dangerosa, Shark Week, Once Okay Twice, The Echo Wall, Rene Moffatt, The Torches, Nunchucks, and more. Lalibela’s lineup even includes Mesfin Worku, the Ethiopian restaurant’s house band. Expect anything and everything, apparently.
